Buccaneers Pick Longhorns RB Bijan Robinson in NFL.com Mock Draft

Despite the narrative around running backs in the first round, Bijan Robinson continues to be a projected first-round pick.
In this story:

Another day, another mock draft which lists Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson in the first round.

This time, NFL.com has Robinson heading to the NFC South and joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rd. 1 No. 19 - Bijan Robinson - RB (Texas)

The Bucs need to figure out what they’re going to do at quarterback in the wake of

Tom Brady's retirement

, but Robinson will take pressure off whoever is under center.

The narrative surrounding running backs in the first round has become one of much debate, with several experts encouraging teams to never draft a running back in the first round.

However, Robinson seems to have bucked that narrative heading into the 2023 draft, and for good reason. Robinson was dominant for the Longhorns in his last season in Austin, rushing for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns en route to winning the Doak Walker.

Of course, the Buccaneers dealing with the loss of Tom Brady could lead to Tampa Bay looking at drafting a quarterback with their pick. If they do opt to draft Robinson, though, he will make life much easier for whoever lines up under center in 2023.
