Longhorns Breaking: LB DeMarvion Overshown Drafted by Dallas Cowboys With Pick No. 90

DeMarvion Overshown is staying in Texas as the Dallas Cowboys draft the Longhorns linebacker with pick No. 90 in the third round.
In this story:

After a productive final season for the Texas Longhorns, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown heard his name called in the third round of the NFL draft at No. 90 overall by the Dallas Cowboys

Overshown was an anchor for a vastly improved Longhorns defense in 2022, recording 96 total tackles with 10 tackles for loss and four sacks while showing off his coverage skills with five passes deflected.

He matched his productive final season with a strong pre-draft process, which saw his draft stock rise and ultimately land him in the third round where he will look to make a strong first impression.

"A rangy stacked backer whose athletic profile lends him to versatile usage on the football field," SI Draft Bible wrote about Overshown.

He is the second Longhorn drafted, joining Bijan Robinson who went at No. 8 overall to the Atlanta Falcons in will continue to be a strong draft class for Texas, who just a year ago did not have a single player drafted.

The Cowboys keep the Longhorn product in-state, allowing him to join a defense led by Micah Parsons. Overshown will look to contribute early for Dallas, both on defense and on special teams.
