Longhorns LB DeMarvion Overshown One of ESPN's 'Favorite Sleepers'
When it comes to NFL draft prospects there are few receiving more love this cycle than Bijan Robinson, with the Texas Longhorns running back likely to be their first first-round pick in almost a decade.
Robinson undoubtedly deserves all the hype and attention he continues to draw, however, there is another Longhorn prospect that ESPN's Louis Riddick considers a "sleeper" in this draft.
My favorite sleepers:
DeMarvion Overshown - ILB (Texas)
"If I were an NFL team, I'd do whatever necessary to make sure Overshown ended up on my team by the end of the draft. He fits so well as a 4-3 weakside linebacker and special teams playmaker in today's NFL because of his length, agility, speed and explosive hitting ability.
He entered college as a safety and made the switch to linebacker. And you can see exceptional instincts and physical downhill mentality. Overshown (6-foot-3, 229 pounds) has the speed to close in zone and/or man coverage assignments. I'm as excited to see how he develops in the NFL as I am about any player in this class."
Overshown was an anchor for a vastly improved Longhorns defense in his final season, recording 96 tackles with 10 tackles for loss and four sacks. He also flashed skills in coverage, defending five passes while adding a pair of forced fumbles.
After an impressive performance at the Senior Bowl Overshown saw his draft stock slowly start to rise, and has continued to do so throughout the pre-draft process.
Now, he is poised to be one of several Longhorns who hear their names called in the draft - and could be one of the biggest steals of the draft for whichever team picks him.
