Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Longhorns host the Wildcats at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin on Saturday in a contest between top Big 12 teams.
Kansas State is riding a three-game winning streak with wins over Texas Tech, TCU, and Houston. Texas has won its last two after a disappointing loss to the Sooners in the Red River Rivalry in Dallas. The Longhorns have wins over Houston and BYU in the past two weeks.
The Wildcats have had success with a two-quarterback system, utilizing the skills of Will Howard and Avery Johnson. Howard is the passing threat with the ability to rattle off a long run when given the opportunity, while Johnson challenges a defense's discipline with his speed. He ran for five touchdowns against the Red Raiders.
Texas will once again turn to Maalik Murphy for the start under center while Quinn Ewers continues to nurse his injured shoulder. Murphy threw for two touchdowns against BYU but also had two early turnovers. He'll need to clean things up against K-State.
The Longhorns have won six straight against the Wildcats, but K-State now has the best scoring defense in the Big 12 and has not allowed a touchdown over the past two weeks.
