WATCH: Impressive Quinn Ewers Interception Streak Ends vs. Kansas

The impressive streak of no interceptions for Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers finally came to an end on Saturday afternoon
In this story:

AUSTIN - Through the first four and a half games of the 2023 season, Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers was on a tear, completing 86 of 129 passes for 1,195 yards and nine touchdowns, with no interceptions.

In fact, entering Saturday's matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks, Ewers had not thrown an interception in 246 straight attempts.

The last time he was picked? November 12, 2022, in the Longhorns' 17-10 home loss to the TCU Horned Frogs in Austin.

That streak was not only one of the country's most impressive, but it was the second-longest in Longhorns history behind only Colt McCoy.

The Longhorns were also 6-1 over that stretch, with the lone loss coming to Washington in the Alamo Bowl.

Unfortunately for the Horns and Ewers, that streak finally came to an end on Saturday, however, with the sophomore throwing his first pick of the season with five seconds to go in the first half.

At the time of the interception, the Longhorns were driving deep into Jayhawks territory, looking to extend their 13-7 lead.

That drive was ultimately stopped short by the pick from Kansas linebacker Cornell Wheeler.

Ewers now goes into the half having completed 14 of 18 passes for 162 yards and the interception.

He also has rushed four times for 31 yards, scoring the Longhorns' lone touchdown of the afternoon on the first drive of the game.

Ewers will look to get back to his efficient play in the second half, where the Longhorns are set to receive the kick to start the third quarter.
