Longhorns F Dylan Disu Announces He'll Return for Next Season

In his final eight full games of the campaign, Dylan Disu averaged 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest for the Texas Longhorns.

AUSTIN -- The Texas Longhorns have received arguably the biggest news of their offseason.

Texas forward Dylan Disu announced Sunday that he will be returning for his fifth and final season of eligibility, electing to not test the NBA Draft process or enter the transfer portal.

Disu kept his message on Twitter short and sweet.

"I'm coming back," he tweeted, along with "The show goes on!" in an Instagram post.

This is a major development for new head coach Rodney Terry, as Disu will be arguably Texas' best player next season barring a big-time addition from the portal.

Disu played the best basketball of his career down the stretch of this past season. In his final eight full games of the campaign, Disu averaged 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest despite finishing with an average of just 8.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks at season's end.

Unfortunately, while posting 28 points and 10 rebounds in the Round of 32 win over Penn State in the NCAA Tournament, Disu suffered a bone bruise in his foot during that game that forced him to miss nearly the entire Sweet 16 matchup against Xavier and the Elite Eight meeting against Miami. His absence proved to be a major reason why the Longhorns came up just short of a trip to the Final Four.

But he now returns to Austin for another year with eyes set on powering Texas to another March Madness appearance.
