While helping lead his team to its first Elite Eight in 15 years, former Texas Longhorns guard Marcus Carr was regarded as one of the best backcourt talents on one of the top teams in college basketball last season.

And now, he's getting his shot at the NBA after seeing his five-year collegiate playing career come to a close.

The Indiana Pacers hosted Carr for pre-draft workout this week, as he sported Pacers gear and got a chance to answer questions from the media, including what he learned during his time in college.

"I think leadership-wise as well as efficiency-wise, just being an older guy I was able to kinda continuously go in the summer, work back on my game, get feedback and improve on those things as well as just being a leader," he said. "I feel like this year I showcased the best of me as a leader and definitely took my time throughout college to learn how to be a leader."

Carr started all 38 games for the Longhorns last season, averaging 15.9 points, three rebounds and 4.1 assists while playing 33.9 minutes per contest.

"Just the kind of leader I am, who I am as a person, the energy I could bring to an organization, kinda the hard-working mentality," Carr said on what he brings to the table.

A bit under the radar on draft boards, Carr is likely set to go undrafted, but can still impress the Pacers or other squads enough to garner a potential undrafted free agent deal. A spot in the G League is also a real possibility, as Carr has the proven skill and experience deserving of a spot with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Pacers' G League affiliate.

Carr previously competed at the G League Elite Camp before transferring to Texas for the 2021-22 season, as he's no stranger to playing in front of NBA scouts.

He'll now wait and see what's in store for him as the draft process continues. The 2023 NBA Draft is on Thursday, June 29 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
