Longhorns Basketball Hosting Pair of Talented Recruits for Visit

Despite some poor fortune with the 2023 recruiting class, the Texas Longhorns are now looking to start fresh and prepare for the future.
In this story:

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns are welcoming two in-state recruits to the Forty Acres for an unofficial visit on Monday.

Per reports from Inside Texas, the program will be hosting 2024 Pasadena Memorial (Houston) forward Robert Miller III and 2025 Brennan (San Antonio) point guard Kingston Flemings on campus. This comes on the heels of an offseason that saw the program lose two five-star talents in Ron Holland and A.J. Johnson, who were both released from their National Letter of Intent after decommitting to pursue professional opportunities.

But the Longhorns are now looking to start fresh and prepare for the future by convincing both Miller III and Flemings that Austin is the place to be.

Rodney Terry has been getting familiar with the 6-11, 215-pound Miller III since last year, well before anyone foresaw him becoming head coach. Miller III made two previous unofficial visits to campus last offseason, and spoke to Inside Texas about his thoughts on the Longhorns after watching the team dismantle the Arkansas Razorbacks in a pre-season exhibition in October.

“It was a good experience,” Miller III told Inside Texas. “I got to see the guys come out and play. It was really fun to watch them come out and hoops together. ... Just the environment. The environment there is really nice. I like how they play together. They aren’t selfish and look to do their own thing. They play like a family.”

It certainly helps Texas' chances that Miller III plays for T.J. Ford's AAU team. He's also fielding offers from programs like Alabama, LSU, Houston and others.

As for Flemings, he's a recent target for the Longhorns, who offered him on May 20.

Seemingly the entire Lone Star State has its eyes on him, as Flemings has received offers from programs like SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor, UT-Rio Grande Valley, Sam Houston and more.
