Collegiate Women Sports Award Show Recognizes Logan Eggleston

Former Texas outside hitter Logan Eggleston was announced as a top-three finalist for the CWSA Honda Cup on Monday.

Logan Eggleston, former Texas outside hitter and Big 12 Conference Player of the Year led the Longhorns last season with 4.28 kills per set and a .297 hitting percentage. This week, Eggleston was recognized at the Collegiate Women's Sports Award Show for her accomplishments. 

On Monday, at the Pauley Pavilion Club on UCLA's campus, Eggleston was honored as a finalist for the 2023 CWSA Honda Cup Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. She was recognized as a top-three placer.

This past February, Eggleston was awarded as the Honda Sport Award Winner for Volleyball and took part in Honda's 47th-anniversary presentation of the Collegiate Women's Sports Awards (CWSA).

The CWSA has recognized the top women athletes in the NCAA for their athletic-driven talent and commitment to leadership, community service and academics. Since 1986, around $3.4 million in institutional grants has been supplied to support women’s athletics programs nationwide.

The Brentwood, Tenn. native has been announced as a finalist for the Honda Award and named AVCA First-Team All-American three times.

As a senior in 2022, Eggleston was the backbone of the Texas Volleyball program and was a model of consistency. During her final season wearing burnt orange, she led the Longhorns to their third NCAA championship title in program history. 

Eggleston went out with a bang during her final match as a college athlete. With 19 kills on a .341 hitting percentage, Eggleston was named the NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player.

Not only is Eggleston a star on the court, but she excels in her academics and is a three-time Academic All-American.
