Oklahoma Sooners LBs Matching Texas Longhorns 'Horns Down' Tattoos Are Fakes

Following their win over the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry, two Oklahoma Sooners got matching tattoos to help remember the victory - at least that's what we all thought.

Following their 34-30 win over the Texas Longhorns in the latest edition of the Red River Rivalry on Saturday, a pair of Oklahoma Sooners decided to play a practical joke on college football fans.

Oklahoma linebackers Danny Stutsman and Jaren Kanak had apparently chosen to get matching tattoos on their left thigh of the Texas logo upside down ... as you'd expect.

However, according to Stutsman after practice those tattoos were fakes.

SoonerScoop.com's George Stoia III asked Oklahoma coach Brent Venables about the tattoos after practice on Monday about the fake tattoos, and got a predictable response.

“I’ve got enough to worry about," Venables said to Stoia. "They need to get their hair fixed first.”

Kanak also took to Twitter to make light of the situation.

While the Sooners hold bragging rights this season, avenging their 49-0 loss from last year, the reveal of these tattoos could serve as extra fuel for a Longhorns team that is still in the mix to make the Big 12 title game, where many hope the team in Norman will be their opponents.

However, the Longhorns still have work to do to make that goal a reality. As they head into the bye week fresh off the disappointing loss, they must wait a little longer before getting the opportunity to redeem themselves by first taking care of business against the unranked Houston Cougars on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The matchup with the Cougars will mark the first time since 2001 that the two Lone Star state programs have played and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future as the Longhorns are set to move to the Southeastern Conference following the season.
