WATCH: Stephen A. Smith Embarrasses Himself With Texas vs. Alabama Analysis

Stephen A. Smith tried to give his two cents on Jalen Milroe's performance vs. Texas. Instead, he made a pair of embarrassing errors.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith is known for being outspoken.

Whether it is the NBA, NFL or another sport, the longtime ESPN personality always seems to be the center of attention when he's on the air.

Sometimes, that can be a good thing, but at others, it can prove to be an issue.

And on Thursday, the latter was certainly the case, with Smith embarrassing himself live on air in multiple ways during his attempt to analyze the Texas Longhorns vs. Alabama Crimson Tide matchup.

First, Smith mispronounced the name of Alabama QB Jalen Milroe (pronounced MILL-ROW)

"It's gonna be a tough season for Alabama," he said. "This kid Milroy, listen I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he ultimately gets it turned around."

However, Smith's egregious errors did not stop there.

Quickly after during the same segment, Smith trashed the performance of Milroe, citing his stats from Saturday night as part of his argument.

Only, instead of providing accurate information, Smith cited the stats of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, who put up the best numbers of his career in the win over the Tide.

"He's not what we are accustomed to seeing from the quarterback position at Alabama," Smith said. "This dude is not ready and you saw it. Look, he threw for 349 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions but the bottom line is he's not that guy."

Milroe's actual stat line - 14 of 27 passing for 255 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions, along with 15 carries for 44 yards - was still nothing to sneeze at.

Especially considering the pressure he faced from the Texas defense.

Either way, Smith should probably be more thorough with his pregame research, before making reaching proclamations about a team's starting quarterback situation.
