The hype for Texas Longhorns freshman quarterback Arch Manning does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

According to a report from Orangebloods.com's Anwar Richardson, it wasn't Quinn Ewers or Maalik Murphy that took the headlines in the Longhorns scrimmage on Saturday.

Instead, it was Manning, who, per Richardson, was arguably the most impressive quarterback on the field over the weekend.

"According to my sources, Texas freshman QB Arch Manning looked incredible during Saturday’s scrimmage," Richardson Tweeted. "He scored on a 70-yard touchdown run on an improvised play. He also was incredibly accurate throughout the day. I’m told he looked better than any other backup QB."

Manning, of course, was perhaps the most impactful commitment for the Longhorns, not just of the Steve Sarkisian era, but in recent memory.

And as a result of that, plus the name he carries on the back of his jersey, Manning will have quite a hill to climb if he hopes to live up to his expectations.

If Saturday is any indication though, he is well on his way to doing just that.

Longhorns fans will hope to get their first glimpse of Manning in a Texas uniform when the team opens up the season on September 2 against Rice in Austin.
