Longhorns Legend Vince Young 'Overrated'... At Least According to AI
AUSTIN - Artificial intelligence technology has arguably been the talked about new innovation in 2023. In particular, Chat GPT has taken most of the headlines in that field.
For some, this is an exciting new development that could help change the course of our future. For others, who maybe watched Terminator 2 too many times over the last 30-plus years, such as myself, it is potentially a signal that the machines are coming.
However, according to a recent ranking by Chat GPT of the 'Most Overrated College Football Players', it appears that we might not have to worry about the machines taking over as much as we thought.
At least not yet.
Why? This list has the ridiculous distinction of having legendary Texas Longhorns quarterback Vince Young as the fourth-most overrated player in the history of college football, behind a trio of Heisman Trophy winners in Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, and Matt Leinart
Huh?
Let's be clear... when making a list of either the most dominant, fun to watch, or flat-out best college football players of all time, Young is typically at or near the top of those lists every time.
Not only did Young captain a Longhorns team that went 24-1 over his final two seasons, winning back-to-back Rose Bowls and a Big 12 title, but he took down the USC Trojan Dynasty in one of the greatest college football games in the history of the sport.
And had he won the Heisman over Reggie Bush in his final season in Austin, he might not have ever appeared lower than No. 1 on any list, to begin with.
Over that two-season span, 360 of 575 passes for 4,885 yards and 38 touchdowns, with 21 interceptions. Oh, and he also rushed 322 times for 2,129 yards and 26 touchdowns.
In other words, it was arguably the most dominant 25-game stretch of any player this century.
And yet, Chat GPT calls Young, one of the most overrated players ever...
