It is no secret that the Texas Longhorns have one of the best wide receiver groups in the entire country this season, but come 2024 they will be fielding an entirely new unit.

With Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, and Jordan Whittington likely all off to the NFL, the Longhorns led by Houston transfer Matthew Golden will look to reload immediately. One player who many think will be in the conversation as someone who can make an immediate impact is five-star receiver Ryan Wingo, who signed with Texas on Wednesday.

The Longhorns beat out in-state Missouri for his services, and according to On3's recruiting prediction machine, the Tigers were heavy favorites. On top of offers from Texas and Missouri, Wingo had over 40 offers with programs like Georgia, Michigan, and Alabama all making pushes for him at one point. For Wingo, he is one of three five-stars that Texas has in their recruiting class according to On3, joining EDGE Colin Simmons and offensive lineman Brandon Baker. In terms of where he ranks nationally, On3 has him listed as the No. 28 player in the country, No. 5 wide receiver, and the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri.

Wingo is joined by a pair of four-star receivers in Parker Livingstone and Freddie Dubose Jr. as the Texas pass catchers of the future.

This season didn't go as planned for Wingo who was dealing with an injury that sidelined him for a handful of weeks, but he still managed to have 32 catches for 469 yards.
