The Texas Longhorns are working on building up their 2024 recruiting class as signing day approaches, but they got a promising addition to their 2025 class.

Coming into Monday they held just one commitment, but that number will see a bump following their latest addition.

Four-star tight end, Emaree Winston, revealed where he will be playing his college football with Rivals.com's John Garcia.

"I would like to continue my college career at the University of Texas," Winston told Garcia. "I see what they do with their tight ends now. Austin, I only went one time but I loved it. The people in Austin... it just felt like home. Hook 'em!"

According to On3's industry ranking, he ranks as the No. 224 player in the country, No. 13 tight end, and as the No. 27 player in the state of Georgia.

Winston chose Texas over Ohio State and UCF while holding a very extensive scholarship offer list.

The Longhorns ended up winning out over nearly 40 other programs, and will now have another player who can eventually help make up for the loss of Ja'Tavion Sanders who is expected to declare for the NFL Draft following the conclusion of this season.

Aside from being a talented tight end, Winston also stars on the basketball court for Calhoun, averaging 12 points and rebounds per game.

Winston now becomes the first offensive weapon to commit and join four-star quarterback K.J. Lacey in the 2025 class, in what looks to be the start of a special offensive class in Austin.

The Longhorns will hope to add more weapons for Lacey going forward, with plenty of other top prospects in the class firmly in Texas' sights ahead of the 2024 Early Signing Period.

Texas continues to thrive in recruiting this month regardless of class.
