UCLA Football: After Bruins Pummel Colorado, Skip Bayless Praises... Shedeur Sanders?

Skip Bayless hurls praise at Shedeur Sanders?

Shedeur Sanders is a tough player, and he proved as much during the battle between the Colorado Buffaloes and the UCLA Bruins.

Despite being beaten 16 to 28, the Buffaloes were able to keep the Bruins from scoring well into the second period. The defense let themselves be known, which was the case for the Bruins as well.

Shedeur Sanders found himself pressured through the entire game but still managed to post a 27/43 217 yards and 1 TD game. This was enough for analyst Skip Bayless to hurl praise at the young quarterback.

There is nothing wrong with Skip Bayless praising the play of Sheduer Sanders, but pegging him as an NFL-caliber quarterback might be a bit premature.

The issue with Bayless' comments about Sanders staying in the pocket and committing throws despite being hit by a defender, is a big reason between what might make him a successful NFL starter.

One of the biggest things that separates most starters in the NFL is the ability to throw the ball away to not take any damage. Sanders was limping on the sideline after taking a beating all game.

We are not discrediting his ability to still get 217 yards and a TD against the Bruins' defense, but sometimes it is better to throw the ball away when danger is knocking at your door.

Bayless also saying Sanders is better than Caleb Willaims might be a bit of a stretch too. Sanders is certainly a good quarterback, but he might not be NFL-ready just yet.
