UCLA's Ground Game Holds Key in Week 2 Clash
Your UCLA Bruins will enter their Saturday matchup against San Diego State University looking to check off a number of boxes on their to-do lists. The college football world took notice of their success last week against Coastal Carolina and even though it's clear they have room for improvement, the positives show plenty of hope for them moving forward.
Over the past couple of years, UCLA has had an interesting dilemma on their hands. They have been able to rise when it matters most and battle with some of the nation's best squads. But on the flip side, they have unfortunately not been able to take care of business against other schools that they should have beat.
Dating back to the 2021 season, the Bruins hold a 13-4 record over their last 17 matches. Along with the success of their current two-QB system on offense right now, head coach Chip Kelly wants to also continue making sure that his stars are not hesitating to run the ball.
Bruins RB T.J. Harden has been able to thrive within the team's system early into the season and credits those around him for helping him get accustomed.
“We both did our thing,” Harden said. “Coach [DeShaun Foster] holds a high standard for the whole running back room and I feel like we met that standard. … I feel more comfortable compared to last year, I know the playbook more. Everything comes to me faster and the game slowed down a little bit now that I’m getting more used to it.”

Harden and the rest of UCLA's RB's will certainly play a major role in whether or not the Bruins stay undefeated tonight.
