UCLA Women's Basketball: 2 Bruins Make ESPN's Latest Top 25 Player Rankings
The UCLA Bruins are ranked #2 in the nation currently, and for good reason. The team has gone 11-0 in non-conference play, and they are looking like a tough team to beat.
That has a lot to do with the stellar play from Charisma Osborne, Kiki Rice, Lauren Betts, Londynn Jones, and Angelica Dugalic. The starting five have gelled in a way that has made them dangerous.
ESPN has also given the team high recognition, as two of the five starters have been named on the top 25 players list for college.
Coming in at #12 is center Lauren Betts. Betts transferred from Stanford to UCLA, and has been making her presence known all season. She is currently averaging 17 PPG, and is leading the nation with a 76.8% shooting percentage.
In at #23 on the list is guard Kiki Rice. Rice has been a stellar piece of the Bruins offense, as she averages 13.5 PPG and 6.6 APG.
Both Rice and Betts have come together with an exciting squad that has captured the attention of the nation. Conference play is set to begin as UCLA will take on #6 ranked USC on Saturday.
The game is set to be quite a showing of two of the best teams in the NCAAW. The excitement is so palpable that the game has already sold out. We imagine we will see even more high-level play from Betts and Rice come Saturday.
