UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Now Projected As No. 1 Seed In NCAA Tournament

Can the Bruins continue their winning ways come tournament time?

The UCLA women's basketball team has been one of the best in the country all season long, and they've put themselves into a strong position for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Bruins are currently ranked 8th in the nation right now, but they received some very high praise on Thursday.

They were projected to become a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament by the committee in the latest Top 16 reveal. Obviously, they have to finish strong, but this bodes well for their chances once the final selections happen.

"UCLA replaced Colorado as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee's latest top 16 reveal Thursday, joining fellow No. 1 seeds South Carolina, Ohio State and Stanford."

Per Alexa Philippou of ESPN

UCLA has dominated most of the season, and they will be a tough out in the tournament. Their combination of size and shooting will give teams many different fits, likely resulting in a long run.

Last season, the Bruins reached the Sweet Sixteen, and the team they have now is even better. They will need to clean some things up if they want to reach their goals of winning a title, but the Bruins have shown the ability to overcome adversity all season long.

If they can have a strong showing in the Pac-12 Tournament, the Bruins will likely clinch a number-one seed. This would go a long way in helping them and the team understands what is at stake here.
