Former UNC Basketball Guard Extends Record-Setting Streak From Deep
On Wednesday night, Coby White broke a Chicago Bulls record via his ninth consecutive game with at least three 3-point makes. Two nights later, the 23-year-old former UNC basketball one-and-done sensation made it 10 straight in a 121-112 road victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
It marked the Bulls' fourth win in a row. They improved to 9-14 overall.
White, who heard his name at No. 7 overall to Chicago in 2019, finished the game with 24 points, four rebounds, six assists, and one steal in his 39 minutes on the floor. He shot 9-for-15 from the field, 5-for-7 from downtown, and 1-for-1 at the charity stripe.
Across his record-setting three-or-more-threes stretch, Coby White has averaged 20.0 points while tallying more 3-point makes (47) than misses (45). That's an average of 4.7 threes per outing and a 51.1 shooting percentage beyond the arc.
Add durability to the light-footed sharpshooter's list of upsides as he approaches what should be his prime years as a pro. White has started all 23 games for the 2023-24 Bulls, averaging a career-high 15.6 points, along with 3.4 boards, 4.3 dimes, and 0.9 steals in 33.7 minutes per game.
And it should now come as no surprise that he's shooting a career-high 41.7 percent from deep for the season.
The Bulls and their sizzling UNC basketball talent look to make it five straight (and perhaps extend Coby White's streak to 11 in the process) when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
