Mother of UNC Basketball Guard Helps With Recruiting Efforts

Michelle Cadeau, mother of five-star UNC basketball freshman Elliot Cadeau, seems active on social media when it comes to 1) supporting her son and the Tar Heels and 2) offering advice to parents of recruits. On Thursday, she mixed the two.
Responding to the post from Prolific Prep (Calif.) five-star forward AJ Dybantsa the night before announcing his offer from UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis, Michell Cadeau referred to the 6-foot-9, 200-pound phenom bucket-getter and electric playmaker as a prospect she's "always liked" and "the perfect UNC player!"

As one can see below, she welcomed the coveted 2025 prep's parents to "reach out at any time" for her views on UNC or just the recruiting process in general:
I’ve always liked @ADybantsa. He is a great player and seems like a very nice person … a perfect UNC player! Mr & Mrs Dybantsa, reach out at any time if you want parent views on UNC or even the recruiting process. https://t.co/keLjW8hsJO

She helped her son, who arrived in Chapel Hill this summer at No. 11 overall on the 247Sports 2023 Composite and is now the ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year, navigate a loaded recruitment and eventual reclassification from 2024. With that in mind, Michelle Cadeau should have valuable insight to give Dybantsa's family.
Her efforts to befriend them (or parents of other recruits in the future) could pay off for the Tar Heels.
Despite recently reclassifying from 2026, it's still relatively early in the recruiting process for AJ Dybantsa, who now ranks No. 1 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite and boasts more than a dozen offers.
2026 F 6-foot-8 A.J. Dybantsa had an outstanding grassroots season as one of the leading scorers in the EYBL — averaged 25.8 PPG at Peach Jam.

Dybantsa, one of nine 2025 talents holding a UNC basketball offer, has yet to reveal finalists. His only official visit was to Southern Cal last week.
