UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his staff have yet to hand out any 2026 offers. But Prolific Prep (Calif.) junior forward AJ Dybantsa is no longer in the 2026 class, as the 6-foot-9, 200-pound five-star recently announced his reclassification to 2025 and has since appeared at No. 1 on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.

And on Wednesday night, Dybantsa posted to social media that he now boasts an offer from the Tar Heels.

Coaches from Chapel Hill have been at Dybantsa's high school in the past few months. They were there primarily to check in on the 16-year-old phenom and his five-star 2026 teammate in admitted longtime Tar Heel fan Tyran Stokes, a 6-foot-7, 245-pound forward who jumped to No. 1 in 2026 following Dybantsa's reclass.

Stokes nor any other 2026 prep has revealed an offer from Davis yet.

AJ Dybantsa, a silky, long-limbed bucket-getter who is a projected one-and-done and potential No. 1 overall draft pick in 2026, becomes the ninth prospect to land on the 2025 UNC basketball wishlist.

The other targets are all composite five-star talents, and each remains undecided in his recruitment:

  • Link Academy (Mo.) guard Jasper Johnson
  • Columbus High (Fla.) guard Cayden Boozer
  • Huntington Prep (W.Va.) guard Darryn Peterson
  • Wasatch Academy (Utah) guard Isiah Harwell
  • Holy Innocents Episcopal School (Ga.) forward Caleb Wilson
  • Columbus High forward Cameron Boozer
  • Perry High (Ariz.) forward Koa Peat
  • Overtime Elite (Ga.) forward Bryson Tiller.

Thus far, Caleb Wilson and Koa Peat are the only two on that list who have scheduled UNC visits this fall, as they'll check out the Tar Heels the second weekend of November.
