UNC Basketball Freshman Now Looking for His Own Shot More Often
Elliot Cadeau came up two points shy of his career-high scoring total in Friday night's 105-60 home win over Charleston Southern, the last non-conference opponent before ACC play begins next week.
Still, 13 points against the Buccaneers, along with four rebounds and three assists, looked like a step toward ensuring conference foes respect his scoring ability. He needs that respect to maximize space for his teammates to get open and for him to do what he does best as the primary facilitator for the ninth-ranked Tar Heels (9-3, 1-0 ACC).

Cadeau shot 5-for-9 from the field, 1-for-2 from deep, and 2-for-2 at the charity stripe against the Buccaneers, in what was only his second double-digit scoring outing as a Tar Heel freshman and first since November.
Following the game, Elliot Cadeau explained to the media that delivering his own buckets has been a focus:
"I'm trying to be more aggressive in finding my own shot. That's what I tried to do today, and it worked out pretty good in the second half...
"We don't really think of [opponents] as a mid-major or top 10 team. We think of it as a chance to get better. So we come into every game just doing the things that we work on every day and playing as hard as we can."
