Hours after his UNC basketball team knocked off Syracuse, 103-67, in Chapel Hill on Saturday afternoon, head coach Hubert Davis was at the Hoophall Classic in Massachusetts watching one of the Tar Heels' priority 2025 recruiting targets.

It's safe to assume that Davis left impressed by Perry High School (Ariz.) forward Koa Peat, No. 5 on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. The 6-foot-8, 235-pound junior, who included the Tar Heels in his announced top 10 on Thursday, tallied game-highs via 23 points, 10 rebounds, and seven blocks in his team's 64-63 win over Grayson (Ga.).

And it sounds like the five-star prospect appreciated the fact Davis arrived in time to check out his dominance.

"That was really cool," Koa Peat told Zagsblog's Charlie Parent afterward. "Coach Davis is a great guy, great program over there, and I had a good time on my visit over there [in November]. So, to see him at my games means a lot."

Peat then recounted what he learned from his trip to UNC.

"They would use me as a versatile wing," he explained to Parent, "kind of like [Harrison] Ingram...Just how they liked each other, how the team just got along with each other, was my biggest takeaway."

That takeaway should help the Tar Heels' chances when it comes time for Koa Peat to reach a decision in his recruitment (no timeline for that yet).

"The deciding factor," he noted to Parent, "will come down to who I trust the most."
