Last week, the father of Holy Innocents Episcopal (Ga.) junior Caleb Wilson revealed that the 6-foot-10, 205-pound forward would be in attendance for the Feb. 3 UNC basketball home game against archrival Duke. At the time, though, the Wilson camp had yet to determine whether his trip to Chapel Hill would be of the official variety.

On Thursday, Wilson, an explosive five-star talent ranking No. 4 overall and No. 1 among Georgia prospects on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, told On3's Joe Tipton that it'll be an official visit, meaning he'll get the full Carolina blue-carpet treatment.

That's a positive sign for the Tar Heels.

"They're a blueblood," Caleb Wilson, who initially planned to check out UNC in the fall but ended up rescheduling, recently said to On3 about his Tar Heel suitors. "I like seeing what those guys have to offer. I definitely love Carolina. Michael Jordan went there. They have rich basketball culture, which is something I want in a school."

Thus far, Wilson has taken official visits to Auburn, Kentucky, and Stanford.

He hasn't named finalists in his recruitment but plans to do so sometime in the spring. While he also hasn't provided a timeline for his decision, he has noted on several occasions that he's in no rush to pick a winner.

Wilson is one of nine players on the 2025 UNC basketball recruiting wishlist. All nine are five-star preps and remain undecided.
