UNC Basketball Senior Earns Well-Deserved Weekly Honor
Despite the 83-81 Thanksgiving Day overtime loss to Villanova at the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas, UNC basketball guard RJ Davis earned ACC Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Across three games last week at the event, including the Tar Heels' opening 91-69 win over Northern Iowa on Wednesday and their resilient 87-72 victory over then-No. 20 Arkansas on Black Friday, Davis averaged 22.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and only 2.0 turnovers.

Against the Razorbacks, a day after logging 41 minutes in the loss to the Wildcats, the 22-year-old tied his career-high scoring total with 30 points on 9-for-18 shooting from the field, 2-for-5 from downtown, and 10-for-10 at the line.
Through six games this season, the 6-foot, 180-pound senior out of White Plains, N.Y., is averaging a career-high 18.2 points. He's also chipping in 3.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from three, and 91.3 percent at the charity stripe.
RJ Davis and the 17th-ranked Tar Heels (5-1, 0-0 ACC) are gearing up for their ACC/SEC Challenge battle against visiting No. 10 Tennessee (4-2, 0-0 SEC) in the Dean E. Smith Center on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. ET.
