UNC Basketball Reveals Starters for Showdown With Tennessee

UNC basketball is all set for its inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge battle versus the visiting Volunteers.

The UNC basketball team is hosting 10th-ranked Tennessee (4-2, 0-0 SEC) on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. ET (ESPN) as part of the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. Although the No. 17 Tar Heels (5-1, 0-0 ACC) recorded their first loss last week, they'll be looking to build on their latest outing, an 87-72 win over then-No. 20 Arkansas on Friday.

Ahead of the matchup against its second SEC opponent in as many games, the UNC basketball program announced its starting five on social media:

  • Freshman guard Elliot Cadeau
  • Senior guard RJ Davis
  • Junior forward Harrison Ingram
  • Graduate forward Jae'Lyn Withers
  • Graduate center Armando Bacot

Following the meeting with Tennessee, the Tar Heels will have a few days off before welcoming unranked Florida State (4-1, 0-0) to the Dean E. Smith Center for both squads' ACC opener on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET (ACCN).

Then, UNC faces three currently ranked foes in a row: No. 4 UConn in New York City's Madison Square Garden on Tuesday as part of the Jimmy V Classic, No. 12 Kentucky in Atlanta's State Farm Arena on Dec. 16 as part of the CBS Sports Classic, and No. 25 Oklahoma in Charlotte's Spectrum Center on Dec. 20 as part of the Jumpman Invitational.
