The No. 9 Tar Heels (7-2, 1-0 ACC) arrived in Atlanta with a full day to prepare for the matchup, which takes place in State Farm Arena as part of the 10th annual CBS Sports Classic.

On Friday, UNC graciously accepted the Atlanta Hawks' invite to get some court time in their practice facility. The program posted several pictures of the team's practice and thanked the franchise for its hospitality.

UNC boasts a 6-3 record in the CBS Sports Classic, featuring the same four participants (UNC, Kentucky, UCLA, Ohio State) for two matchups every December. That's the best mark among the four schools.

However, UNC is only 1-3 against Kentucky at the event (3-0 versus Ohio State and 2-0 versus UCLA). The most recent CBS Sports Classic meeting between the Wildcats and Tar Heels was in December 2021, Davis' first season at the helm, and resulted in a 98-69 Kentucky win. That remains the most lopsided loss of Davis' career.
