There's little doubt that Holy Innocents Episcopal (Ga.) five-star Caleb Wilson has been a priority UNC basketball recruiting target ever since the 6-foot-10, 200-pound explosive power forward revealed his offer from the Tar Heels in May.

Now, there seems even less doubt. According to Rivals' David Sisk, Caleb Wilson's father said Tar Heel coaches were at his school on Monday and plan to return one day next week.

Wilson, who ranks No. 4 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, is one of seven prospects in his class on UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis' wishlist. That includes three more power forwards, all sitting in the top five overall alongside Wilson, in Cameron Boozer (No. 1), Koa Peat (No. 3), and Bryson Tiller (No. 5).

While Wilson has already begun scheduling and taking visits, including to Alabama this past weekend, there's been no word yet on plans for a trip to Chapel Hill being in the works.

Perhaps that will change between now and soon after the Tar Heel recruiters' return trip to Atlanta. After all, Caleb Wilson has had plenty of nice things to say about the UNC basketball program recently.

"They had Michael Jordan; he went there," Wilson noted to On3's Jamie Shaw this summer. "I love the brand. I like the coach too. Coach Hubert and I have had good conversations so far. We talk a lot about the things that they do there, 'The Carolina Way,' both on and off the court, and that is appealing to me.

"He tells me he likes my play style."

Caleb Wilson hasn't named finalists or specified a decision timeline, and his 247Sports Crystal Ball remains empty. So, at this relatively early juncture, it seems Davis and his crew should have about as good a chance as any of his more than a dozen suitors to come out on top in his recruitment.
