Leroy Jackson didn't commit to the UNC football program until November, choosing the Tar Heels over Appalachian State and Miami. But on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period in the 2024 cycle, the Lee County High School (Ga.) defensive lineman wasted no time in inking his national letter of intent.

Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 270-pound three-star, ranks No. 1,132 overall, No. 120 at his position, and No. 132 in his state on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

UNC football announced his addition to the "Flight Club" by posting this package of a hype video and highlights:

Here is 247Sports recruiting analyst Don Callahan's most recent assessment of Jackson's skillset:

"Jackson is an uber-nimble, squatty defensive tackle who, at 6-foot-1, 270 pounds, plays with natural leverage and great balance. That leverage coupled with quick, constantly-churning feet often overwhelms offensive linemen. He also uses a strong pair of mitts to manipulate blockers."

Leroy Jackson joins 26 other signees to make up the 2024 UNC football recruiting class. It sits at No. 26 in the country and No. 4 among ACC schools, according to the 247Sports team ranking.
