UNC Football Adds Promising Piece to 2025 Recruiting Class
On Sunday, less than 12 hours after the Tar Heels' dramatic 47-45 double-overtime victory over archrival Duke in Kenan Memorial Stadium, Hersey High School (Ill.) tight end Logan Farrell announced his commitment to the UNC football program.
According to 247Sports' Don Callahan, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound three-star's pledge came during his visit to Chapel Hill.
As a junior, Farrell caught 29 passes for 425 yards and nine touchdowns. On the 247Sports 2025 Composite, he ranks 562nd overall, 24th among tight ends, and 19th in Illinois. He also received offers from ACC schools such as Duke, Louisville, and Syracuse.
Logan Farrell, who has held a UNC football offer since April, revealed three finalists in September: UNC, Duke, and Illinois.
Although Farrell reportedly already knew he was coming to campus to commit to the staff, no doubt the Tar Heels' field-storming win on Saturday night only further sealed the deal:
Farrell is one of four verbal commits for the Tar Heels on the 2025 recruiting trail. The other three are McDonogh School (Md.) three-star edge Kamden Laudenslager, East Forsyth High School (N.C.) three-star quarterback Bryce Baker, and Cary High School (N.C.) unrated offensive lineman Trey Blue.
While it's early in the 2025 cycle, it's worth noting that, according to 247Sports, the UNC football collection ranks 15th in the country.
