UNC Football Recruiting: Tar Heels Boast 'Big-Play Wideout'
In August, Javarius Green committed to the UNC football staff over fellow finalists Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. And on Wednesday, the Crest High School (N.C.) wide receiver signed his national letter of intent with the Tar Heels.
Green, a top-tier three-star prospect, sits at No. 520 overall, No. 72 at his position, and No. 16 among North Carolina preps on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.
UNC football announced Green's signing on social media, posting the following collection of highlights and a hype video to welcome him to the Tar Heel family:
Here's the scouting report on Javarius Green from 247Sports' Don Callahan:
"A natural athlete with an NFL pedigree (his father, Willie, was a nine-year veteran), Green is a big-play wideout who classifies as a slot receiver but could easily slide outside.
"The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder is at his most dangerous in the open field: while he has home run speed, it's his instincts when in space, which includes when and how he changes gears, that makes him a nightmare for defensive coordinators."
Mack Brown and his gang enjoy the nation's 26th-ranked class, consisting of 27 signees (tied with Miami for the ACC's largest haul this cycle).
