USC Basketball: Top Class Of 2024 Center Lists Trojans Among Top 4 Schools
After de-committing from the Florida Gators earlier this summer, four-star center John Bol, a 7'2" big man considered to be among the top recruits in his rising senior class, has listed your USC Trojans among his four ideal NCAA landing spots, his agent Chris Wash informed Joe Tipton of On3.
The Trojans boast one of the best recruiting classes of the 2023-24 NCAA season. Adding Bol would help, ahem, bolster their 2024-25 class considerably.
Bol, who is transferring from his prior base of Sunrise Christian High School in Kansas to the Georgia-based pro league Overtime Elite for his final prep school season, will visit his four finalists this month and next.
In October, the South Sudanese native will decide between USC, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, and the University of Texas at San Antonio. In November, he will officially sign with his new team.
“John Bol is a unique athletic specimen," Tipton's On3 colleague Jamie Shaw is quoted as saying in a scouting report. "He has defensive upside as a weak side rim protector and someone who can move his feet when switching along the perimeter. Bol will need to add strength; he is currently very thin. He gets moved off his spots on both ends of the floor easily. The added strength could help him become a better post-defender and finish better in the paint. Offensively, Bol is at his best with putbacks and in lob situations. His offensive game is pretty limited right now; he has touch but needs to develop his range and some low post moves."
Per Tipton, Bol (no relation to Manute or Bol Bol) enters his senior season as the fourth-best player in Georgia among his draft class, the No. 34 overall player in the nation.
