USC Basketball: Bronny James' Superstar Dad LeBron Sings His Son's Praises After First Trojans Game
The USC Trojans faced off against Long Beach State on Sunday, and though they didn't come away with the win—it was a special game nonetheless. The game served as the debut of Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James.
LeBron had previously stated he would skip a Lakers game if it coincided with Bronny's debut. Thankfully, that didn't need to happen as the Lakers had won the In-Season Tournament the night before.
LeBron and his family showed up to watch Bronny take the court for the first time, and he did not disappoint. Despite having a minutes restriction, he had a massive block and three-pointer that left the crowd reeling. LeBron spoke to reporters about what it meant to see his son back on the court.
LeBron told reporters that what he put in his Instagram post is how he feels. He referred to the day as "emotionally draining." He stated "The kid was standing tall and standing strong at the end of the game, and that is a blessing in its own right. That is a win. He won at life."
LeBron is referring to the cardiac arrest that Bronny James suffered earlier this year. He collapsed on the court and had to be rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, doctors found that Bronny was suffering from a curable heart defect. His USC debut definitely meant more to the James family.
LeBron was all smiles when he talked about Bronny being the first of the James family to touch a college court. LeBron had been drafted out of high school and never attended college. It was a special night that we imagine the James family will never forget.
