USC Basketball: Drake Spotted Rocking Trojans Gear
On Sunday, the USC Trojan suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Long Beach State 49ers, 84-79 in overtime. The Trojans didn't display their best basketball in front of a sold-out crowd, resulting in their fourth loss and second in a row.
However, following their loss to Long Beach, a particular celebrity and award-winning global artist, Drake was rocking USC gear.
Whenever you have a global superstar rocking your program or school, it's an honor. But when that star is Drake, people tend to have a different reaction to it.
For one, Drake is known as a bandwagon for whatever sport it is, from tennis to basketball, football, baseball, and hockey. Whatever sport it is, and whoever is popular; Drake will jump on the bandwagon. Right now, the USC Trojans basketball program is a hot commodity, thanks to Bronny James. Being the son of NBA icon and legend LeBron James brings a ton of attention far and wide, and Drake is exhibit A of that.
And secondly, Drake is somewhat of a curse in the sports world. Whatever team he seems to be rooting for never seems to end well outside of the 2019 Toronto Raptors. From the Kentucky basketball team, Conor McGregor, Manchester City, the Miami Heat, and Serena Williams, all of them one way or another, have suffered from the Drake curse.
Right now, the Trojans men's basketball team sits at 5-4, and hopefully, the curse doesn't affect the team.
