USC Basketball: Expert Ponders Why Isaiah Collier is Flying Under The Radar
Your USC men's basketball team is looking to solidify their program as one of the best in the nation in the 2023-2024 season and they definitely have the roster to do so. With the recent news from top cardiologists and head coach Andy Enfield that Bronny James may end up returning to the team this year, USC will hopefully have their squad at full strength and ready to go.
It's clear that they were starting to build some chemistry during their recent international trip to Greece and as they won three straight exhibition games, they also started to find specific roles for one another.
Collier clearly shined in transition and in half-court settings as the team's primary ball-handler. He showcased the same abilities that we saw from him all throughout his growth to stardom in high school and he looked very comfortable making plays with his teammates.
However, CBS Sports' Matt Norlander took a deep dive into why there isn't as much noise surrounding Collier's name heading into the 2023-2024 season as previously thought.
"Are you even aware that the Trojans have the top-ranked freshman? Probably not, unless you're a USC fan or someone who follows college basketball recruiting 12 months a year. It's been a long time since the No. 1 player in a high school class was flying under the radar this much. That's in part because the 2023 class is viewed as one of the weakest in the past decade, but it's also because Collier's name is overshadowed by fellow USC newbie Bronny James."

I think that Norlander made a great point in that this year's freshmen class isn't getting much love. However, once officials games start this is bound to change and Collier and the rest of his peers will be able to put on a show.
