USC Basketball: Son Of Lakers Legend Sends Heartfelt Message To Bronny James After Trojans Debut
USC Trojans freshman guard Bronny James made his collegiate basketball debut over the weekend against Long Beach State, in an 84-79 Trojans loss. It was a long time coming for the young guard, but one that he will cherish forever.
His unfortunate cardiac arrest attack earlier in the summer delayed his start, but he made it. There was a time that nobody knew if this moment would ever happen, but thankfully he was able to be cleared to return to the court.
It was an emotional day for a lot of people, notably his dad LeBron James. James took to social media after the game to pay tribute to his son. He was just a dad on the day, not the NBA superstar that we've all come to know.
Shareef O’Neal, son of former Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal, also gave support to Bronny after the game. O'Neal himself dealt with some health issues, so he knows firsthand the kind of emotions that Bronny was feeling.
“Real warrior!” commented Shareef O’Neal, who underwent heart surgery in 2018 before eventually playing for UCLA and Louisiana State and four games with the Lakers in the 2022 NBA summer league.
Per Chuck Schilken of The Los Angeles Times
It's nice to see moments like this, despite the tragic circumstances that forced them to happen in the first place. O'Neal understands better than anyone what Bronny has been dealing with, so it's great to see him being there for him.

Hopefully, Bronny can continue to push the limits and build out a nice career for himself. He is a talented player, and if he performs well, the NBA is just around the corner.
