The USC Trojans are currently ranked #9 in the nation, and the team is stacked with players who have come together to secure a 12-1 record. Players like Rayah Marshall, McKenzie Forbes, and Kayla Padilla continue to showcase what makes this team so special this season.

However, there might not be more of a dynamic player in college than freshman JuJu Watkins. Watkins is currently the #2 scorer in the nation, averaging 26.1 PPG. She was ranked #5 by ESPN and is now on the shortlist to win the coveted John Wooden Award

The John Wooden Award is an annual award given out to recognize the top college basketball player in the nation. Despite the season not being over, Watkins is already on the watchlist for the midseason honor of the award.

Watkins isn't just the #2 scorer in the league, she currently leads the Trojans in 3.7 assists per game, 2.4 steals per game, and 28 three-pointers made.

Watkins also beat out Trojans legend Cheryl Miller with five 30-point games this season. We imagine she will continue to add that number by the season's end.

Watkins and company have been on a tear this season and we imagine they will go far in the NCAA tournament, especially with someone like Watkins averaging 26.1 PPG. The future is bright for the young player.
