The matchup between USC and Colorado today was one of the more highly anticipated of the season. Anytime the Trojans play, it is a big deal, but the Buffalos have made a name for themself to start the year, too.

Behind head coach Deion Sanders, Colorado started out hot to open the year but finally dropped a game to the Oregon Ducks last weekend. The Buffalos have flash, and it has drawn in a ton of supporters.

So, this game was on the schedule for everyone, including multiple NFL scouts. It is being reported that 21 different teams traveled to Boulder to see this game.

Both teams have potential future NFL players, but these teams likely wanted to get a better look at both quarterbacks for the programs. Caleb Williams is the likely first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, so most teams already know about him.

But Shedeur Sanders remains a bit of a wild card. He has started the season very well, but he is still unknown to most scouts. This gives him a chance to make his case to them against a good USC team on a big stage.

This always gives every other player on both rosters a chance to show what they can do. Anytime NFL scouts attend a game like this, it can be massive for the future of someone. You really never know who is watching when so making sure that you give it your all every time out is vital.

Unfortunately, USC was missing their breakout freshman, Zachariah Branch, for this matchup. He could have put on a show for the NFL scouts, even if they aren't able to draft him for another two years.

No matter the game's outcome, the fact that this many scouts were present tells you how big a game was. USC typically will draw scouts like this, but this feels like an entirely different event in itself.
