USC quarterback Caleb Williams has been one of the more heavily talked about players in the upcoming NFL Draft and rightfully so. He is expected to be one of the first players selected off the board, and many have him being taken as the first overall pick.

After winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022, Williams put up another solid year in 2023. However, the Trojans' defense couldn't match the production and the team suffered a disappointing season.

But it hasn't stopped Williams from receiving all the draft hype, and quarterback-needy NFL teams are all trying to position themselves to land him. The Chicago Bears hold the first overall pick, but the team behind them may be of more interest.

The Washington Commanders hold the second pick and just hired former Trojans coach Kliff Kingsbury to be their offensive coordinator. Having Williams and Kingsbury reunite in Wahington would be special, and Williams even fueled the fire a little bit recently, saying it would be cool to play for the Commanders.

Williams returning to play for his hometown team would be a fun story and could be the jolt that Washington needs to get themselves back on track. The Commanders have been fairly mediocre for a long time, and Williams could push them back toward contention.

The biggest hurdle will be to meet the Bears' asking price for the first pick if they are inclined to move it. There has been thought that Chicago may want Williams for themselves, which would end all discussion in a trade.

Whatever happens, Williams seems likely to be taken with one of the first two picks at worst. His skill set and ability on the field are like no other in this draft class, and he is about to make one lucky NFL franchise very happy.
