USC Football: Players Finally React to Hire of D'Anton Lynn
The hiring of new defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn by the USC Trojans took many in the college football world by surprise. Lynn comes over from the rival UCLA Bruins after heavily turning their defense around this past season. The Trojans are hoping that he can do the same for them, helping them reach their full potential.
Multiple USC defensive players finally reacted to the hiring of Lynn and gave their thoughts about him for next season. Lynn is one of the best football minds around the country and USC made a home run hire.
“Great hire, man," said USC third-year junior safety Jaylin Smith. "He’s a good guy. I had a chance to meet him and talk ball with him. He’s passionate about football. You can tell he wants to win. I’m all in with him.”

Defensive lineman Jamil Muhammad chimed in as well, giving his thoughts on what he can learn from Lynn.
“You guys saw what they can do all year," USC defensive lineman Jamil Muhammad said. "I’m excited to learn from him and learn what he has for us as a defense.”

Lynn spoke about his scheme as well. He wants to make things flexible for all of the players going forward, and not make them play his game.
“I’m not a guy who goes, ‘Hey, this is my scheme. This is what I do.’ It’s all about the players,” Lynn said. “I think you have to be flexible and you need a scheme that is built that way. At UCLA, we had a very flexible scheme that not only fit our personnel, but allowed us to be a little bit different each week depending on the offense that we were playing.”

While Lynn won't be coaching in the upcoming bowl game for USC against Louisville, he has created a buzz around the program. Players seem to be buying into him just being around and the future of the Trojans' defense looks very promising.
