USC Football: Trojans Kliff Kingsbury Interviewing for Chicago Bears OC Position
Are the Chicago Bears dropping a hint at what their future quarterback plans look like? The latest move appears that with current USC senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach Kliff Kingsbury expected to interview for their offensive coordinator job.
Kingsbury was once the head coach with the Arizona Cardinals and Texas Tech before spending last season working directly with potential No. 1 pick Caleb Williams.
The news broke on Thursday via ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Williams made his highly-anticipated announcement on Monday, Jan. 15, that he was entering the NFL Draft.
“I still have a lot to learn and I’m ready to do whatever it takes. As a kid, I said this is what I was going to do for the rest of my life, but I didn’t work this hard just to reach this point. I will continue my journey to make that little kid proud of the man I will be for many years to come. I’m excited for the future, and I am officially declaring for the NFL draft.”

Under the guidance of Kingsbury this season, the junior quarterback had a career-best completion rating of 68.6 (266-for-388) and had a career-long touchdown of 76 yards. His other numbers were much lower than his Heisman-winning campaign in 2022-23.
The Bears have a tough task ahead of them with deciding whether to stick with Justin Fields who they drafted at No. 11 three seasons ago or if it is time to move forward and build an offense around Williams.
If Kingsbury gets the job, the fuzzy future may become much clearer.
