USC Football: Where Chris Simms Ranks Caleb Williams Among Top 2024 QB Prospects
USC Trojans superstar quarterback Caleb Williams is ready to take the NFL by storm. The Heisman Trophy winner proved his worth in college, especially during his two years at Southern California. He's arguably the best prospect in the 2024 NFL draft and is undoubtedly the number one player in his position.
Not only do we believe so, but so do NFL analyst and former two-time Pro Bowler New York Giants quarterback Chris Simms. Simms named Williams the number one quarterback in his top six quarterback prospects list.
Simms shared his list via X.
Not only did Simms rank Williams number one, but he also listed him in his own special tier -- 'A class of his own.'
All signs point to Williams being the first player taken in April's draft. He possesses all the tools to change the trajectory of a franchise, and that franchise could be the Chicago Bears.
The Bears hold the number one pick in the draft; however, it's uncertain whether they'll trade their current quarterback, Justin Fields, or stick with him. There's still a ton of speculation on what they'll do; regardless, Williams has shown he deserves to be the first player taken.
Due to his playmaking ability with his arms and legs, he's garnered comparisons to three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes. Whether he's number one or not, any NFL team will be lucky to have the 22-year-old lead their team for years to come.
