Prediction: USC football favorite to land 4-star wide receiver

Right now, USC only has one committed recruit in its 2024 class, but that could soon change

Right now, USC only has one committed recruit in its 2024 class, but that could soon change. On Monday, On3.com National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman logged a prediction that gave the Trojans a 96% chance to land 2024 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) wide receiver Xavier Jordan.

Jordan was one of the top pass catchers in the Golden State a year ago at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles. The four-star recruit hauled in 83 receptions for 1,626 yards and 20 touchdowns in his junior season.

In addition to USC, Jordan has received scholarship offers from 15 other schools including Georgia, Oregon and Washington. On3 ranks Jordan as the No. 89 recruit in the 2024 class and the 14th receiver.

USC's lone 2024 recruit is Oregon tight end Joey Olsen.

OTHER RECRUITING NOTES

USC hosted a massive recruiting weekend on Saturday and Sunday and one visitor, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) 5-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt, left campus on a high.

"They are a standout program that's a top contender," Wyatt said. "For sure they are going to be in my top five when I drop it, for sure. They are really going to be a good contender in my recruitment."

Spending time individually with outside linebackers coach Roy Manning was very important to Wyatt.

"All my prior visits I went with a group of people," he said." There wasn't the one-on-one time that I really wanted. But (this weekend) with coach Manning, there was a different energy in the room. I really wanted to get in-tune with my position coach, figure out what his priorities are, what kind of front he's running, what his standards are. I wanted to get the most out of it. He wants a fast, lean, good-lean, good-bend, good-get off off the edge. That's what I do."
