USC Basketball: Trojans Officially Sign 2024 Point Guard Trent Perry
Harvard Westlake (Studio City, CA) point guard Trent Perry signed his official letter of intent to play for USC on Wednesday, November 8th. He makes up on third of the Trojans' 2024 recruiting class, along with guard Liam Cambell and forward Brody Kozlowski.
Perry announced his college decision during the Top Flight Invite tournament that streamed on ESPN+ back in October. Perry ranks No. 42 nationally by ESPN, and No. 36 by On3. He led Harvard Westlake to a CIF Open Division state title in 2023 and nearly scored a triple-double in the championship game, missing just two rebounds.
Perry chose USC over Colorado, Gonzaga, TCU, Oregon, and Stanford. All four major recruiting networks has Perry as one of the top 100 recruits in the 2024 class. He is, according to those networks, the best player to sign with USC in their 2024 recruiting class. His commitment comes one year after USC pulled in two blue-chip guard recruits in Bronny James and Isaiah Collier. While both of those recruits have been the subject of "one-and-done" speculation, Perry should be coming into the squad next season and pushing both for playing time. USC's 2024 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, is ranked 10th in the country.
For the past three seasons, USC has made the NCAA tournament. If Andy Enfield and the USC staff can continue to bring in elite talent, it's safe to say the Trojans are well on their way to building a perennially competitive program.
