USC football: Latest recruiting update on 5-star tight end Duce Robinson

"Robinson has unlimited potential. With his skill set and physical abilities, he could be an all conference performer for multiple years."

Reading the tea leaves, it sure sounds like five-star Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.) tight end Duce Robinson will pick USC in the next few weeks.

Robinson's experienced a whirlwind recruitment due to not only having to pick a school, but also having to pick a sport. In addition to being a top football recruit, Robinson is also a stand out baseball prospect who could get drafted in this summer's MLB Draft.

He said in a National Signing Day interview with ESPN that "the plan is fluid,” in regards to whether he'll play college football or go pro in baseball. If Robinson chooses to play college football, he also plans to play college baseball.

After forecasting that USC will land Robinson last month, 247Sports.com analyst Blair Angulo went on the College Football Recruiting Show on Tuesday and reported that Georgia, one of Robinson's other finalists "doesn't feel as confident as they once did," in regards to landing the five-star, according to a source close to the commitment.

Obviously that's more good news for the Trojans.

In addition to USC and Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Texas are Robinson's other finalists.

Here's a portion of 247Sports.com's scouting report on Robinson as a college football recruit:

"Robinson has unlimited potential. With his skill set and physical abilities, he could be an all conference performer for multiple years. I see him as a player that has NFL ability and should be an early round pick in his future."

Expect a final decision from the tight end to come soon. April 1 is the deadline for 2023 recruits to sign with a school.
