USC football named a 'recruiting winner' for month of March

The other programs listed as March winners by On3.com were Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State and Oklahoma

It took until the second to last day of the month, but USC football was named one of the "March Recruiting Winners" by On3.com after landing 5-star tight end Duce Robinson.

Here's what writer Keegan Pope had to say about USC's March recruiting victory:

The Trojans only have one commit thus far in 2024, but still had a little bit of unfinished business in 2023 to take care of. After leading for five-star tight end Duce Robinson for what seemed like most of his recruitment, the Trojans took a bit of a backseat to Georgia in December and January leading up to National Signing Day.

Robinson ultimately delayed his decision until the end of March, and that gave Lincoln Riley and his staff just what they needed to edge back in front. Robinson announced for the Trojans on March 30, giving them a third five-star signee in this cycle and a fourth offensive player ranked among the top-40 nationally.

The other programs listed as March winners were Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Pretty good company.

USC TIGHT ENDS COACH ZACH HANSON BREAKS DOWN ROBINSON RECRUITMENT

After USC's ninth spring practice, Hanson discussed what it took to add Robinson.

"It was a long haul for sure and we all kinda knew it was going to be that way," Hanson said. "Duce was very open and honest with us from the beginning...We just stayed true to who we are and knew that if we mapped out that plan for him and showed him that we had everything figured out in regards to what we wanted to do and how it all worked for him, that in the end, we were going to get him. It was a fun process overall and I'm glad he ended up choosing us."
