With all of the USC football recruiting fireworks taking place this month, it's possible even the most die hard Trojans fan may have missed a story or two.

As of Wednesday, June 21, USC has landed nine 2024 commitments in the last three weeks. And after the biggest official visitor weekend of the summer, that number is expected to rise.

Already this week, two recruits who haven't committed yet have been predicted to pick USC and the Trojans are also trending for four-star Longview (Texas) running back Taylor Tatum, the nation's No. 1 running back prospect.

As if that wasn't enough, both 247Sports and On3 have logged predictions forecasting that USC will receive a commitment from four-star Jasper (Texas) linebacker Tyanthony Smith.

Smith officially visited USC last weekend. He's ranked as the No. 327 prospect nationally and the No. 29 linebacker, per the 247Sports.com composite. Smith is 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds. He's also being recruited by Texas, Texas A&M and Alabama.

Here's 247Sports.com's scouting report on Smith:

Size and athleticism unverified, but tape is encouraging in both regards. Looks lean, athletic, and fairly long on the hoof. Plays hard with consistent motor. Productive sophomore season. Shows impressive pursuit range and accompanying closing juice. Not a liability in space with functional athleticism to match up with skill players. Adding mass and strength will boost arriving impact and foster more consistent disengaging from second-level antagonists. Limited but valuable short-yardage touches check the two-way box, prevalent in long-term linebacker projections. Through sophomore season, looks like a bona fide Power Five-caliber linebacker prospect with developmental upside.
