USC football: Trojans predicted to land 3-star defensive lineman
Following his official visit to USC last weekend, multiple recruiting insiders from 247Sports.com have logged a prediction forecasting that three-star Hempfield (Landisville, Pa.) defensive lineman Deyvid Palepale will commit to USC.
Palepale is set to announce his college decision on July 1. He's also taken official visits to Penn State and Michigan in June.
The 247Sports.com recruiting rankings list Palepale as the No. 56 defensive lineman in the 2024 class. He moved to Pennsylvania from Alaska at age 14 and has been a late bloomer on the recruiting scene. Palepale is 6-foot-3 and weighs 288 pounds.
RECRUITING MOMENTUM
The USC coaching staff has been on a recruiting heater in June adding ten class of 2024 commits so far.
Three-star Cherry Creek (Englewood, Colo.) offensive lineman Hayden Treter was the first player give a verbal to the Trojans in June. He announced his decision on June 4. Later that day, four-star Clearwater (Fla.) safety Jarvis Boatwright also picked USC.
A day later, four-star Serra (Gardena, Calif.) cornerback Dakoda Fields and four-star Booker T. Washington (Atlanta) defensive end Kameryn Fountain committed, but USC still wasn't done. The Trojans secured a verbal pledge from four-star Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) offensive lineman Manasse Itete that day too.
In the last three weeks, four-star Cheshire Academy (Conn.) linebacker Elijah Newby and four-star Hiram (Ga.) tight end Walter Matthews committed.
Four-star St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) cornerback Marcelles Williams and four-star Clearwater Academy (Fla.) offensive lineman Jason Zandamella both committed last week.
This week, four-star Millikan (Long Beach, Calif.) wide receiver Ryan Pellum pledged.
