USC Football: Where Does USC Stand In The Recruitment of Peter Langi?

All Trojans checks in on the recruitment of the 2025 offensive lineman.

Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco, CA) offensive lineman Peter Langi took part in a revival this season. Archbishop Riordan hasn't been a consistent football program in a long, long time.

Sure, Langi and the Riordan Crusaders took a first-round loss in the Central Coast Section playoffs this past Friday, November 10th.

But the Crusaders are once again relevant, and Langi played a huge part in that. The 6-5, 330-pound junior guard helped pave the way for an absolutely loaded offense. At least four of the five starting offensive linemen are Division One prospects, and Langi's tape provides a strong case for him being the best of them.

USC took notice of Langi's talent this past summer, offering him on June 25th. Over 30 schools have offered him. He told AllTrojans.com that he plans on releasing his top 12 schools about a week after the end of his season. Soon, we'll know if USC earns a spot on that list. If I had to guess, yes, it will. Langi regularly keeps in contact with USC offensive line coach John Henson. That said, another club is apparently pushing hard for his services.

"I feel like the school that's recruiting me the hardest is Tennessee," Langi revealed.

Also in the mix are Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, and Texas.

"During the spring I will be taking a couple of visits, but I don't have a set time and date right now because I'm worried about playoffs," Langi said.

Worth mentioning is that Langi used to play for perennial national powerhouse Mater Dei High School down in Santa Ana, CA. The familiarity with Southern California could be a factor in Langi's relationship with USC.

Langi has one final season to play under Riordan's offensive line coach Ryan Jones, a former San Jose State standout. Given his size, and potential development, Langi could end up one of the most college-ready offensive line prospects on the West Coast in the class of 2025.
